Talking to journalists in Tundla of the Firozabad district, Akhilesh Yadav pointed out that the BJP had assured the farmers that they would double their income. “On the contrary, the farmers are not getting enough remunerations for potato, maize, paddy, mustard, and other crops under the BJP government,” he charged

Additionally, he pointed out that the farmers are facing an acute shortage of fertilizers under the BJP rule in Uttar Pradesh. “The BJP has shown false dreams to farmers. Today, they need urea and fertilizers for their crops but they are not getting them. There are long queues of farmers for fertilizers in many districts including Ayodhya. While the government is unable to provide them fertilizers, the police are caning the farmers,” he alleged.

On the deletion of voters’ names in the 2022 assembly elections, The SP president said the fight is now between the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the DM. “So far, the Election Commission has been denying that it has received any affidavits of the voters whose names have been deleted while the district magistrates (DMs) are confirming their receipt. The ECI and the DMs have to decide on the affidavits of 18,000 voters given by us. Let the DMs file a report and the ECI take a decision on them,” he said.

Mr. Akhilesh Yadav said, “Everyone, including journalists, saw that people were not allowed to come out to vote in Rampur while 80 per cent of the votes cast in Kundarki by-election went to the BJP. In the elections, there was a nexus of the ECI, the BJP and the district administration,” he alleged.

He said that the ECI would do whatever the BJP asks it to do to ensure its victory with a record margin. “The BJP is afraid of the policemen, who cast votes in civil dress in the by-election, being identified. This is why the record of the voters was not made available,” he alleged.
